BlueEFFICIENCY includes a series of innovative environmental technologies, such as intelligent energy management, improved aerodynamics and tyres with low rolling resistance. The vehicles consume less fuel but do not compromise on performance, safety or comfort.

The dynamic V6 diesel engine for the GL 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY delivers a full 195 kW power output with a maximum torque rating of 620 Nm in the engine speed range 1600 to 2400 rpm.

Implementing BlueTEC catalytic converter technology, the GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC combines 155 kW output and max. 540 Nm torque with economical consumption and low emissions. First, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and particulate emissions are reduced by an oxidation converter and particulate filter. Using AdBlue®, fluid is injected into the exhaust, where, under the effect of heat, ammonia is formed. This reduces nitrogen oxides in the downstream SCR catalytic converter by 80. What remains is water, nitrogen and carbon dioxide (CO2) - the final product of combustion. In short: BlueTEC is a clean technology and the BlueTEC model is one of the few vehicles to comply with the strict Euro 6 emissions class.

The GL 450 CDI 4MATIC is powered by a V8 diesel engine with 4-valve technology and common rail direct injection. 225 kW output and a maximum torque of 700 Nm ensure sporty performance combined with attractive fuel consumption.
